LOUD is what I wanted!! The wires on the horn include an end with set screws, so stick the power wires into the fitting & screw down the set screws. The discount for getting a double pack made it easy for me to choose getting 2 sirens. My goal was to find an alarm as loud as the horn on a Brinks system I used to have.. they installed the horn in the attic (so you can’t get at it) and it was still so loud in the house you couldn’t think! …so loud that I’m sure a thief would find it hard to force himself to stay in the house for even a minute! I also bought a 12v/120v convertor to plug it into an outlet, but will eventually wire the sirens to a deep cycle battery so it’ll work even if you throw the main circuit panel breaker. I also found a great little 2-pack key fob 12v controller that I’ll put on our key chains to use as a panic button if ever needed when we’re home (the key fob has a 320′ range & uses rolling security codes like newer garage door openers use).Since the Ring alarm system (AND even their new add-on sirens) are about as loud as a little boy’s toy police car siren… and since I don’t have time to figure out how to use IFTTT to use Ring module notices to auto turn these sirens on, for now I have them plugged into a WiFi controlled outlet so I can manually turn them on with a phone app.One of my concerns is I’m in a rural location with few neighbors & it might take a Sheriff Deputy 30-60 mins to respond to an alarm monitoring call, so with all the instant phone notices I get from my alarm system & cameras, for now I’ll just use the WiFi electrical outlet app to turn these sirens on manually if I have a break-in. They truly are so loud that you can consider them an actual “deterrent”.. meaning I bet almost any thief dumb enough to break into our home, will take off running the moment these sirens go off! (One in the attic & one outside under the eave. Heck, I even thought about adding one of those bright LED emergency vehicle strobe lights under the eave facing our road, so the only 2 neighbors that can see our place would know where the siren noise was coming from.)Using the different add-on things above that I found on Amazon, for less than $100 we now have an actual DETERRENT to chase thieves off whether we’re home or not, plus a key fob panic button in case my wife or I ever needs it for when we’re home (Break-in, home invasion or other emergency? .. like when I’m out in the shop & wife is in the house, we both now have an easy way to send a panic alarm to each other.) Hope this review gives you some ideas of your own!
