This adorable Mainstays basket is made of woven Natural water hyacinth which is a material that is well-known for its strength and durability while still being very lightweight. The basket has an open weave. The macramé trim and fringe hide the openness of the weave on the outside of the basket but it is noticeable from the inside. The basket has a beautifully hand-crafted macramé edging around the top with a hanging fringe that covers most of the length of the basket. The macramé is neatly done and the yarn is a good thickness. The combination of the natural woven material and the macramé adds such an earthy homespun feel to my farmhouse and looks great with all of my décor including my wicker furniture. The basket is perfect for hiding a plain potted plant. This basket will also work well with any type of fake flower arrangement although already being lightweight, it may need to be weighted down in the bottom. The basket would also look cute on a bathroom vanity filled with hair accessories, brushes, or make up.
